A new DVD features an in-depth interview with and a comprehensive painting tutorial from popular cover artist Joe Jusko. In the feature, Jusko takes a piece from start to finish, discussing his techniques.
Jusko’s career started with the sale of his very first cover for Heavy Metal in 1977 at the age of 17. Since then, Jusko has worked for almost every major comic book publisher, producing hundreds of images for both covers and interiors. His work has appeared on paperback book covers, calendars, posters, t-shirts, toy packaging and innumerable trading cards, including the award-winning Marvel Masterpieces trading cards.
“When I consider where I came from, and how few people actually get to live their childhood dream in their adult life, I feel nothing if not fortunate and very, very blessed,” Jusko said.
The Creator Chronicles DVD series has previously featured George Perez, Bill Sienkiewcz and Michael Golden (also featuring a tutorial), and future DVD’s are planned on Matt Wagner, Mark Texeira, and Joe Sinnott.
